In Memoriam Dr. Emmanuel Kafwembe

It is with great pain and deep regret that the CPN-YAS-PRD Project Team announces the death of one of its partners in the person of Dr. Emmanuel Kafwembe. After a protracted illness he passed away in Ndola, Zambia on Monday, 17th May, 2010. He represented the Tropical Diseases Research Center (TDRC) in the project as the Regional Contact Point for Southern Africa. At the beginning of the project, he hosted the very first workshop for the training of RCPs and LCPs. He remained a very active and contributive pillar in the project which went through times of instability. Many will remember him for the trainings which he organised late last year in Zambia, Malawi, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The project benefited enormously from his wealth of experience and wisdom which he willingly shared in a spirit of humility, kindness and friendliness.

We will miss his greatly!

We hereby express our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family, colleagues and friends.
